1. Overview

Nexus Learning (“Nexus Learning,” “we,” “us”) provides 1-on-1 online tutoring. This policy explains what information we collect from students, parents/guardians, and teachers who use our platform, how we use it, and how we protect it.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — name, email address, role (student, teacher, or admin), and timezone, provided when an account is created.
  • Student profile information — grade, subject, parent contact details, country, and notes provided by a parent/guardian or by our staff.
  • Scheduling and session records — class schedules, session dates and times, topics, homework, feedback, and attendance notes logged by teachers.
  • Homework and uploaded files — documents, images, and other files a student or teacher uploads as part of homework or coursework.
  • Contact form submissions — name, email, and any message details submitted through our website's contact form.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide and coordinate tutoring sessions, including timezone-accurate scheduling.
  • Let teachers review, give feedback on, and track homework and student progress.
  • Communicate with students, parents/guardians, and teachers about the service.
  • Respond to inquiries submitted through our website.
  • Maintain the security and proper functioning of our platform.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. How We Store and Protect Information

Account, scheduling, and session data is stored in a managed Postgres database (via Supabase), protected by row-level access policies so a user can only access data relevant to their role. Homework files are stored in a Google Drive account controlled by Nexus Learning — files are never made publicly accessible; access is always mediated through our own authenticated servers. Our application is hosted on Vercel.

5. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers to operate the platform, including Supabase (database and authentication), Google (Drive, for homework file storage, and Calendar, where a teacher has connected it), and Vercel (application hosting). These providers process data on our behalf and under our instructions — we do not permit them to use your information for their own purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain account, scheduling, session, and homework data for as long as an account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes, unless a longer or shorter period is required to comply with a legal obligation or requested by a parent/guardian.

7. Your Rights

You (or, for a minor student, their parent/guardian) may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, by contacting us at the email address below.

8. Children's Privacy

Nexus Learning provides tutoring to students who may be minors. A student account and the information associated with it are created and managed with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who may contact us at any time to review, update, or request deletion of their child's information.

9. Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the platform securely — we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
